Bravery has always been a word used to describe those who fight for our country, police, firemen, or anyone who is battling an illness that maybe they can’t win.    I know a lot of brave people and they might not fit into the above categories, but they are my teachers.   To me, bravery comes when you make the decision to go against what is popular.   It is standing up for what you believe instead of what others are telling you.    I use to be blend in with groups of people and became uncomfortable if my opinions differed from others. In the end, I was silent.  In the last few years, I have evolved.   I make decisions that are best for the whole, not what other people encourage me to do.    I have learned that many of my decisions may not be popular, but I have to live with me.

It takes courage to own your thoughts, actions, reactions, and decisions.  Today, I am surrounded by incredibly courageous people who teach me that essence of bravery  You may not ever hear about them in the news or read a book about their experiences, but these are the invidivuals who make me want to be a better person and most of all, to be true to myself.
