So, while I continue my emotional cleanse, I have developed some new coping skills.    My thoughts tend to take on a life of their own, especially if they are negative.  I have been inspired to shift those not-so-kind thoughts into something more positive.  For one unkind thought, I balance it with something that individual contributes or an attribute that I find attractive.  When it’s hard, I don’t berate myself for repeating the same kind thought.  I figure it is a balance.

Being perfectly imperfect allows me wiggle room to figuring out how to best boast my recovery from the toxic exposure I have been subject to.    Journaling has been a tremendous contribution and adding this twist to my “workout” has given me a new perspective.  It allows me to see the other person in a more compassionate way.  This in no way means I am willing continue the pattern of self-destruction while engaging with them.  It merely gives me the space to exhale and release the uncomfortable feelings.  It is a transformation that is guiding me on this journey of self discovery.
