As we plow through our day, we become numb to the world around us.  Focused on our own agenda, we often become complacent and take for granted the day presented to us.  I know, for me, waking up each day gives me pause to show gratitude.    Each moment I am breathing and able to participate in life is a gift.   Recently, it has been even more obvious that each moment God gives us is precious.

Not to share too much, but the last two days have been a world wind of ups and downs complete with take your breath away moments.     I am aware of how life changes minute to minute.   There are no guarantees.  We don’t know what God has in store, so it is important to not waste time on the trivial, but gain a view of our primary purpose.

For me, the last few days have given me an opportunity to be of service.  A safe haven for those who are suffering. I put aside my own emotions to concentrate on the importance of family, love, and most of all, God’s grace.   I am thoughtful in my prayer and know that despite being powerless, I can rest assured that a plan is in place.  I might not know what it is or how things will play out, but I am confident it will.   Each passing moment I become more aware of the delicate balance we live in and while I know, when the crisis passes, I will resume regular programming.  However,  I am hopeful that, as one of God’s nudges, I will pay closer attention to the precious gift of life.
