I will admit, I enjoy cussing.   There is a freedom in swearing that gives me an euphoric feeling.  Now, with that being said, I know when it is appropriate and when it is not.    While I realize that some may be offended, I make all efforts not to offend, but I am who I am.

There was an article published last year stating the psychological effects of cussing.   Those who dabbled in those expletives, were found to be more loyal, trustworthy, and upfront.   It also explained that those of us who love to swear make better friends.     When you are friends with me, you definitely know where you stand.

Throwing a F bomb or promptly saying S*** releases any toxicity that would normally take up residence within me.    Yes, I am aware that my view may be taboo.   Some will read this and gasp at the thought, but I cuss like a sailor and am really okay with that.

As a writer, words are powerful, so expletives can better serve as a colorful expression of what I am currently feeling.   I don’t conserve my cussing for just when I am mad.   No, friends, I use them even when things are fantastic and I am excited about something.   They are words to use for every season and reason.

Embrace who you are and if someone doesn’t like it, well, you know.
