Teetering on the threshold of wildly, unnerving, world events, I ponder how on earth we will survive such vivid hatred and noisy rhetoric.   I am an action person, so when a lot of lip service is delivered, I pause.   You see, I believe, that in order to change the world, one must lead by example.

There are so many wonderful models that have walk the path of love and tolerance.   Exuding a peacefulness is a simple intent that we all can follow.   Instead of being enraged on how the world is slowly buckling under the magnitude of hatred, focus on how you can make a difference one person at a time.    Did you smile at the cashier?   Did you tell them to have a good day?   Even those who might not appear to be receptive are usually the ones that need it the most.

Set your intent.   Be willing to take the time to acknowledge others. Be consistent in this practice and it will become second nature.   Now, I know I can’t change the world by spouting my opinions, but I can make the world more tolerable one action at a time.
