I have dual citizenship as I am a frequent visitor to a place called crazy town.  If you haven’t been there, you must take time to visit.  Unfortunately, if you stay too long, I can’t guarantee an easy reentry.   Since I have been visiting a lot more often since my surgery, I am privy to the overzealous thoughts that seem to trap me into overthinking.

Come to think of it, I am beginning to wonder if I have a lot of company on my journey to “crazy town”.   We have a ridiculous election on the horizon, people are arguing over which bathroom to use,  and don’t get me started on those individuals that are getting charged up about an GAP ad that depicted a interracial family.   Maybe crazy town should be closed.

Part of the process, for me, is understanding that those who feel the need to embark on a path of nothing more than negativity, tainted with hate, should have a one way ticket to “crazy town.”    There is a shining light on all of this that many don’t see…….it is the choice of choosing to do the right thing, being that beacon of happiness and compassion, and most of all, believing that one way or the other, goodness will win in the end.  I have to believe that, otherwise, I might as well board the train with the other one-way passengers.

Hopefully, the stop to this delightful destination will only be temporary and something will transpire to transform our society to be less judgmental and more compassionate.  We aren’t going to agree on everything, but let’s at least show others the respect they deserve, even if their viewpoint is vastly different from our own.   Be the example that you wish to see in the world.   For that to happen, it HAS to begin with one person.   Will you be able to be that person?
