Last night, I felt disconnected like there was something missing.  It was an unfamiliar feeling as my life is so full.  I am blessed with a quirky, wonderful family, a job that allows me to be flexible, a bountiful selection of empowering friends, well, you get the gist.  The question was why was I feeling this way.

Approaching fifty has given me a sense of purpose.   Instead of being uncomfortable with the arrival, I am filled with a sense of awe and wonder.   Impressed with what life’s buffet has delivered, I realized this morning that I have set some unrealistic expectations on myself.   Funny, I am the first one to share how unfair that is, but I continue to set those high standards for me.

We can’t live our life being disappointed.   Instead, we need to value what we have and aspire to expand on it.   We can improve, challenge, and even set goals, but we must never give up on living our best life.     We all must treat ourselves like we would anyone special in our lives.  Everyone is doing the best they can, including me.

So my message today is simply this……easy does it.    Realize that no relationship is more important than the relationship you have with yourself.  How you treat yourself is reflected in every corner of your life.
