Apparently, Amazon, somehow, came to understand the gravity of my coffee situation because my new Keurig arrived a day early. I didn’t have to go spread my ray of sunshine to another barista this morning. Maybe the universe was sending me a subtle message. On this first day of April, I brewed a cup of caffeine without any sort of issue. Maybe this month will be better than March. That month started off with me having the flu and ended with all of us being sent to timeout in our homes. If we were hanging out on our sofas in 2019, that would be considered lazy. In the year 2020, it is considered being a responsible adult. On my, how the times have changed.

And can I say that the IRS is incredibly prompt during this difficult time? We filed our taxes and were scheduled for a refund. Normally, a direct deposit is a three week wait, but imagine my surprise when it appeared this morning in our account. Less than a week, people. Maybe the pandemic makes them work faster. Whatever. I am not going to question it.

My mother’s caregiver called yesterday. I really don’t think that my mother or her assistant understand the seriousness of this pandemic situation. They call me like I am a delivery service. I have explained that I am only going out when there is a need. Last week, I had filled her refrigerator along with some other items ensuring that I wouldn’t need to shop for a while. Yesterday, they called ordering vodka, cream of wheat, and orange juice. Jesus. Take. The. Wheel. I kind of lost my shit a little bit. Okay, maybe a lot. My mother says, “Just have it delivered” to which I respond, “You won’t get it for a least a week and I am not having things that aren’t a necessity delivered to you”. Now you all understand why I cuss like a sailor. I. Can’t. Even.

I need a vacation. Maybe I will venture to the guest room today. I haven’t been there in a while. I think a change of scenery would be good for my morale.
