Yesterday, I felt heavy. The discomfort was palpable. Instead of the four seasons, 2020 has become the season of a pandemic sprinkled with protesting. The pandemic could have waited but I suppose if we are going to have a shit show, that certainly makes it more interesting. Please add the lunacy of some of our leaders to the recipe of chaos which only leads to us saying, “WTAF”.

But, as yesterday progressed, I felt it. What did you feel, you ask? I felt change and hope. I saw communities come together. I saw police and protesters walking together. Praying together. Hugging each other. I heard the dialogue between leaders and protesters. Dialogue that should have been happened many, many years ago. But, what I know is that God’s timing is always perfect.

One of my favorite songs is Rise Up by Andra Day. The lyrics speak to my heart and I encourage you to download it. It will move you. It will inspire you. But most of all, it will comfort you. We all need a little hope today.

Rise Up…….

All we need, all we need is hope

And for that we have each other

We will rise, we will rise

I’ll rise up

In spite of the ache

I will rise a thousands times again
