I hear the voices as they shout how glad they are that 2016 is almost over from politics to personal tragedies, many are elated to start with a new year. Some years are more painful than others. While I have had my own struggles with this year, the reality is that this is all apart of the journey.
I am a firm believer that God has a plan. Unfortunately, he doesn’t see fit to let me in on it, so that I can prepare, but he does allow me the opportunity to react to it with whatever emotion seems appropriate. It isn’t all nicely wrapped up in a beautiful bow. Sometimes the plan is messy and complicated. Other times, it unfolds beautifully.
What I know is that His plan is full of blessings, but I have to literally be present to “win”. Even when life delivers hardships, I can experience grace, kindness, and the connection with others, but I have to be in the “now”. I don’t do life alone which leads to me to the biggest blessing of all.
As we prepare for a new year, I am mindful to be grateful for the experiences that have enriched my life, made me stronger, and challenged my faith. I can’t travel the path if I don’t move forward.
